
Kawasaki India has officially launched the 2026 KLX 230 and KLX230R S in the Indian market, with prices starting at just ₹1.94 lakh (ex-showroom). The biggest highlight is the massive price cut for the street-legal KLX 230, now priced at ₹1.99 lakh, down from ₹3.30 lakh — a ₹1.30 lakh reduction thanks to local production in India.

The Kawasaki KLX 230 price in India now makes it a direct rival to the Hero Xpulse 210 (₹1.76–₹1.86 lakh). Known for its lightweight build and exceptional off-road capabilities, the KLX 230 now gets:
- New graphics & decals for fresh styling (colours: Lime Green, Battle Grey)
- Stiffer suspension with reduced travel (–20mm front, –27mm rear)
- Ground clearance: 255mm (–10mm from previous model)
- Bigger brakes: 290mm front disc, 230mm rear disc
- Switchable front ABS, no rear ABS
- Bluetooth connectivity removed
Engine Specs:
Powered by a 233cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 17.8 bhp and 18.3 Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Known for its strong low and mid-range torque, making it a great choice for trail riding and city use.
2026 Kawasaki KLX230R S – Off-Road Focused
Priced at ₹1.94 lakh, the KLX230R S is a pure off-road motorcycle that continues the KX-inspired styling. Unlike the KLX 230, this version is not street-legal and is built for serious trail riding.

Both bikes feature a minimalist, trail-ready design, slim 7.5-litre fuel tank for easy rider movement, high mudguards, and a digital LCD instrument console showing speed, trip meters, fuel gauge, and clock. The KLX 230 comes with road-legal equipment, while the KLX230R S is built for off-road performance only.
Verdict
With local production, Kawasaki has finally made its KLX dual-sport series price-competitive in India. The KLX 230 now appeals to a wider audience looking for a Japanese-engineered dual-sport alternative to the Hero Xpulse, while the KLX230R S targets hardcore off-road riders.
